Developing Our Colour Skills

I’m a sucker for self-development quotes and matras – even the cheesy ones.  Follow me on social media and you’ll get your daily dose of inspiration. Why wouldn’t anyone want to focus on the positive, be self-motivated to achieve greatness, and be happy? Beats me!

And I bring this same passion for personal development to the salon.  We have a culture of self-improvement, with no room for complacency. Successful hairdressers need to be dedicated to continually renewing their skills, and exploring new ideas and approaches to influence and push their creativity.

The beauty about the hairdressing industry is that there’s always more to discover. If there’s one thing that’s certain, it’s that trends, products and technologies will change over time.  Embracing this keeps us on our toes, and keeps us humble, as even the experts and specialists among us are constantly able to learn and add new dimensions to our knowledge and skill sets.  Where’s the excitement in your job if you master some skills and then stick with the same repertoire?  It’s far more satisfying to continually push yourself to broaden your knowledge, and challenge yourself to remain up to date and relevant.  Twenty-three years in the business and you can most definitely still teach this old dog new tricks!

So I’m super excited to have booked a top colour technician to come into the salon and carry out a team training session. We’ll be re-visiting the fundamentals of colouring and learning fresh new techniques. Learning together as a team, with our different levels of experience and different creative approaches, will mean we can bounce off each other, challenge each other, and inspire each other.

Ultimately, we’re passionate about being able to give you the best look possible and so, even with a wealth of knowledge and experience, we will continually review our skills and maintain a keen interest in hairdressing developments and techniques to be able to do so.

And that doesn’t mean we’ll abandon all the traditional approaches – it just means we’ll have a broad and up to date knowledge base to be able to offer you the most appropriate advice and recommendations, in line with what you’re after, your hair type, look, personality and lifestyle.

So if you want some colour in your hair – be it subtle or drastic – come in for an informal consultation and we can discuss the best options for you.
